| Horse Hollow MEC Response | ||||
NAE supported TtEC in the Horse Hollow MEC Response for Florida Power an Light Energy (FPLE) from January 2005 to January 2006. Ten NAE personnel supported this project and performed duties as UXO Tech I, Tech II, Tech II, and UXO Team Leader. The Horse Hollow wind farm includes over 200 wind turbines located approximately 25 miles southwest of Abilene, Texas. Located on property leased from 30 private owners, this development includes access roads and pad construction. Much of the site falls within boundaries of Camp Barkley, a formerly used defense (FUDS) used by the Army to train combat divisions during WWII prior to overseas deployment. Shortly after beginning construction on the site, FPLE discovered that much of the area was contaminated with UXO. FPLE contracted with the NAE/TtEC team to execute a fast track MEC Response in support of their aggressive construction schedule. The scope of this projct included:
